If you happen to have the new 2021 copy of the Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa Car Counsel Booklet, there are a couple errors we wanted to make you aware of:

The cover of the book says 2021 but the spine says 2020.  It is in fact the 2021 version.

Secondly and of importance to our membership, there is an advertisement for the 2021 Tour Nebraska.  The car counsel booklet inaccurately states the Tour is out of Kearney.  This is not correct.  The tour will begin both days from Hastings Nebraska.

Just wanted to clear up any confusion this may have caused.  See you on June 4-6, 2021 in Hastings!!

    TOUR UPDATE-PLEASE READ COMPLETELY

To all NRCA Tour Nebraska Participants:

It is with heavy hearts we are once again having to make this announcement.  This has been the hardest year for us!  We’ve planned 2 Tours and now we’ve postponed 2 Tours, and 2021 we will once again plan another Tour.   We’ve focused on working with the Towns we would stop in, which is necessary for comfort breaks and fuel, the Caterers, for food, Motels, for a place to sleep, and all of the Health Departments that we need to get compliance with to come into their areas with 1,000 to 1,200 people from across the state and some from out of state.  Their discouragement on this and the uncertainty of the State’s mandates, the decision has been made to postpone Tour Nebraska 2020.  With a group the size of ours and the number of Senior Members we have,’ Social Distancing’ is near impossible, and not the feel any of us would welcome for the nuance of the Tour.

Now for the good news, anyone who is Registered and paid for the 2020 Tour is now Guaranteed their spot in the NRCA Tour Nebraska 2021, which is scheduled for the 4th, 5th and 6th, of June 2021.  If you have your Reservations at one of the listed Motels, your room and Reservation will automatically be moved to the proper dates for next June.  If you had your Reservations at one of the other Motels, you would need to contact them and have the dates changed.  There will be much more information coming as we lead up to next year’s Tour.  Hopefully, everyone will be able to attend next June, as there will be no refunds.  Let’s have another GREAT NRCA TOUR NEBRASKA 2021!!!

“It REALLY Is An ADVENTURE!!”  Stay Safe! Stay Healthy!

    Lin Hoskins

    Tour Coordinator

Regrettably, for the safety and well-bring of our members, we have made the decision to postpone NRCA's Tour Nebraska 2020, to SEPTEMBER 25, 26 and 27!  Everything else will remain the same.  Same Routes, Same Food, Same Members!  We have already been in contact with the Motels from our LIST, and they will be automatically changing all of the Tour Registrations over to the new dates.  If you are staying at a motel NOT on our official LIST, you will need to change your own reservations.  We're aware of the disappointment this may cause, but in these unprecedented times, and our demographic area, we feel this is the right move at this time.  This will be the first time in 28 years we will have a FALL TOUR!!  I think it will be another GREAT ADVENTURE!

Due to the current corona virus issues and the need for social distancing, the NRCA annual member's meeting was cancelled and the scheduled election of officers and area representatives was conducted electronically.  The results of the election are:  Brad Kernick - President,   Lin Hoskins - Vice President,   Kevin Uhler - Treasurer,   Gary Garnick - Secretary.  Area Rep. Ryan Putnam was retained.  Thank you to all who took the time to vote.  This is your organization.  Use your vote to make your voice heard.

We are deeply saddened to announce that former NRCA President and friend to many of us, Gary Hedman passed away Thursday evening in Texas as result of complications from Influenza A and Pneumonia. Gary has been such an important part of the leadership of NRCA. His leadership helped us grow the organization and got us through some challenging times.

Because of the Coronavirus health challenges, Gary’s funeral will be for immediate family only. NRCA will plan something in Gary’s honor at a later date. Please remember Gary and Dee and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Their home address is:

    Dee Hedman

As a part of every membership, if you have a spouse they are provided a full membership too.  Most of the time when joining only one email address is provided and we know many of the spouses do have a separate email address.  This can be added easily and when the spouse does have a functional email address they will receive their own copy of the newsletter.  They can enter events and get into our members only section to get information like motel telephone numbers for events etc. If there are special announcements, they will get those however dues notices are normally not sent to them.

We have received yet another order of the cast aluminum plaques - 50 of them and you can now buy one by going to our Events Section - and registering for one.  We will send you an invoice and mail the plaque right out when it is paid for.  This will make 270 of them in circulation -- no wonder, they are nice.
