Grand Theater Car  Show

  August 6th in Grand Island f is the Grand Theatre car show.   The Grand theatre has be kept alive by a non profit all volunteer staff.  It is a great facility built in the 1930’s with art deco styling. It is like a classic car and needs to be preserved and enjoyed.  Once a year they sponsor a car show on the streets in the area.  Space is limited to the streets that can be shut down, but usually they can handle 200 vehicles.  The show is free and they even give you a couple of movie passes that can be used anytime in the next year!  

Here are the official details:

      The Grand Theatre will host its annual car show from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday along Third Street near the theatre. The car show will showcase a wide variety of classic and custom automobiles. Trophies will be awarded in various categories. Register the day of the show or pre-register by contacting Craig Hand at Howard’s Jewelry, 381-1225. Two movie passes will be included with each registered automobile. Passes can be used at any regular movie for one year. Show parking begins at 3:00 pm. Admission to the car show is free.   The “Grand” is located at 316 W. third will also be showing “Jurassic World at 7:15 p.m. during the show.  

   It has been twenty-two years since the original Jurassic World movie.  This new sequel  is PG—13 rated.  Admission to the move is only $3.50 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12.  (or you can use the free passes) For more information call 308-381-2667 or visit grandmovietheatre.com.
