This event is hosted by NRCA members Todd and Melissa Grantski on Saturday, June 2nd. It is a 1/2 and 1 mile shootout between Cordova, NE and I-80 Exit 366.
The Big Blue Mile Shootout was started three years ago. It was created to help the local Volunteer Fire Departments pay for equipment they need to assist on their fire & rescue calls. Because these departments are so close to I-80, they get many call outs that are very serious. The inaugural year, Al Unser Jr. and Robby Unser participated in the event. we also granted a wish enhancement to a Make A Wish kid. (the ride of his life he said) Another goal is to bring people to this part of rural Seward County and show them what we have to offer out here. This in turn generates business locally. This us a free event to everyone, however, we are encouraging people to bring a non-perishable item to donate to the local pantry.
